Global Lifting Services (Trinidad) Ltd celebrated 4 years of growing committed excellance in Trinidad and Tobago on February 6th 2008.
Through an ever widening range of clients, GLST’s presence in Trinidad has allowed the local lifting technicians to impact the market while gaining experience through a unique apprenticeship program. GLST’s Lifting Technicians entered the work force with Mechanical Engineering Technician Diplomas, worked under Lifting Engineers with at least 10 years experience and have since been deemed competent in inspecting and testing the full range of lifting gear by a D32/D33 Assessor. Dive Vessels, support vessels, rigs, platforms, service company equipment and CCU manufacturers and suppliers have enjoyed the support of these technicians who are committed to becoming professionals in their field.
Also, Operations Director of GLST, Michael Harries, recently supported the LOLER Development Committee within the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards; LOLER will hopefully be implemented in the near future which will further increase the opportunities for GLST in the marketplace. The impact in the marketplace of GLST was futher empahsized when GLST employee James (Jack) Main was made the Lifting Technical Authority for BP Trinidad and Tobago LLC.
The eagerly anticipated delivery of locally manufactured DNV approved slings creates the opportunity for DNV certified CCU manufacturers and suppliers to be supported by GLST. The tried and true GLS Aberdeen Business Model of merger relationships again delivers the result of Local Content and Local Development with international accreditation to another region of the world. Envisioned to deliver DNV approved sling assemblies by the 2nd quarter of 2008, GLST’s presence will increase dramatically in the region.
HSSE and QA/QC are of paramount importance to GLST commitment to staff, clients and country and as such GLST has Committed to Aaron Buxo as the HSE Consultant and Adanna Quinin as the HSEQ Advisor. These additions to the GLST team grants internal bench marks to each employee that will attract further confidence from clients and stakeholders. These steps will allow many more years of growing, committed excellance in the Region.
